Minecraft streamer and content creator Technoblade has passed away after an prolonged battle with stage four cancer, his family announced today in a public statement and video.

Techno had previously announced that he was diagnosed as having cancer in August. Techno has been informing his community periodically about his diagnosis, and is continuing to receive treatment and create content on YouTube.

In the video, posted on June 30, Techno’s father narrated an end-of-life message titled “so long nerds” specially written for the occasion. It was filled to the brim with the creator’s signature dark and sometimes humorous humor, and also serves as a final “thank you’ to everyone who supported the Minecraft star throughout the years.

“Thank you all for all your support for my work over the years. If I had another hundred lives, I think I would choose to be Technoblade again every single time. Since those were the most joyful years of my life.” Techno said.

“I hope you enjoyed my content and that I made some of you laugh. I love you guys and wish you an enjoyable, healthy, and prosperous life. Technoblade out.”

In his message Techno, who reveals his real name is Alex, talks about how the proceeds from merchandise and other “sell-out” pushes in the last year are being used to send his siblings to college, if they choose to go. He also talks about thanking his fans for giving him such happy moments. A slideshow of photos that show him through different phases of his treatment are displayed on the screen.

Following Techno’s final message, his father details the way he initially had plans to write and record the video himself prior to his death, but his deteriorating health and other factors prevented the process from taking place. According to his father, he composed the message in bed and died around eight hours later.

Technoblade’s father said that Technoblade was “the most amazing child anyone could ever wish for.” Technoblade is my best friend. Thank you to all of you for everything. Minecraft Server
